Heron Owners Gallery - Chuck Mitchell

This is my Heron Road (Bailey Falls Blue), 62 cm.. By my reckoning, this is my 8th road bike since 1981. It has proven to be the most comfortable of the lot ( including one recumbent !!!). I had it equipped with Shimano 105 running gear which I've had on two of my other bikes. For the money, I don't think you can beat it for performance and reliability.

I had a set of Mavic Cosmos spare wheels with Michelin Axial Pro tires mounted to them. The green sidewalls on the Michelins go rather well with the Heron's paint, an uninteded consequence. The stem is a Nitto Technomic and the handlebars are Nitto 46 wide purchased from Rivendell Bicycle Works.

The crowning touch is my Ideale 90 leather saddle, bought in 1982 and with thousands of miles on it, its still comfortable.The French do some things well.
